We have to be greater than the hardships we endure—both in life and in fantasy football. Whether it’s managing real-world struggles or drafting Christian McCaffrey first overall last year (or trading for him midseason), flexibility is key! Just breathe—whooosaahhhh—some things are out of our control, like injuries or draft position. But there’s plenty we can control!
We can take a donkey and turn it into a stallion, baby! Through research, smart waiver moves, and targeting the right matchups, we can outwork the competition. It’s about identifying last season’s underwhelmers who could be goldmines in 2025—especially at their projected ADP.
Be better than the dumb-dumbs in your league! You’re already ahead of them by putting in the work—90% of building a championship squad is preparation. These players? They could be draft-day steals who turn into lineup locks in 2025!

Jaylen Wright
Drafted in the second round of 2024 by the Miami Dolphins, Wright showed flashes of elite acceleration and footwork outside the tackles. While his opportunities were limited in his rookie campaign, the departure of Raheem Mostert should put him in position to feast—on Big Macs—in a Mike McDonalds offense (that one’s for Jason!) that’s ready to explode for 40+ points every week.
While De’Von Achane limits his potential upside, Wright is in the perfect system for his skill set. Improved vision should come with reps and experience, alongside what should be an incoming O-line upgrade at some point this offseason.
Jaylen has solid flex appeal, and given Achane’s durability concerns—built-in upside—should anything happen. His lack of opportunity last season and sitting sidecar to Achane should keep his ADP relatively low this draft season…low risk, high reward, I’m in!
Jordan Addison
It’s hard to imagine the first-round talent that Addison is being so criminally undervalue...but that just speaks to how special Justin Jefferson is.
Drafted as the WR44 in leagues last year—according to ESPN—he smashed his ADP and finished as the WR28, becoming a weekly WR2 with WR1 upside in the back half of the season.
A healthy J.J. McCarthy could open up this offense even more, and while the—essentially—rookie mistakes will be there for J.J., Addison lives off big plays. Another offseason to build chemistry and develop as a pass catcher—going into prime WR years—Jordan Addison could be loading in for a big season…and I’m sure a looming contract extension won’t be on his mind at all—especially after seeing big bro just take home a bag!
Chuba Hubbard
Chuba is the RB equivalent of Tyler Lockett! He is constantly slept on yet keeps delivering RB12-20 finishes. With an ADP of 103.6 last year—Hubbard rewarded savvy managers with a top-12 finish. RB1 in the 9th round or later…we like those!
Entering his “sophomore” campaign, the looming potential of Jonathon Brooks will keep Chuba’s draft cost relatively low—again—however, don’t let this scare you. Carolina just paid this man! And not a little…4 years at $33 million and nearly $16.5 million in guarantees!
Sometimes you gotta follow the money, especially when his main competition is coming off a disappointing rookie debut and on that sweet rookie contract. Even if Brooks starts to get worked in more throughout the season, Chuba will receive enough work to remain a starter in my lineups!
Jordan Whittington
If you’re like me, you love your receivers big, fast, and able to Moss these prima donnas on the other side of the ball! While my size-ism has receded in recent recollections, my love for Jordan Whittington has not! At 6’1” and over 200 lbs coming out of the Lone Star State, this kid is ready to come out of the shadows!
Last season, he sat behind Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp all season, recording 22 receptions for 293 yards, averaging 13.3 yards per catch. Whittington also added 453 return yards on special teams, further showcasing is versatility in Sean McVay’s potent system, this kid is ready to explode this year! With Demarcus Robinson’s contract situation uncertain and no clear WR3 stepping up—and a possible Kupp departure—Whittington has a real shot to stake out a significant role.
The Logan version of Cooper Kupp is falling apart like the adamantium skeleton of Wolverine at the beginning of the Deadpool movie. Matthew Stafford, now 37, just re-signed but isn’t getting any younger. Aaron Donald is gone and already working on his Hall of Fame speech. With Kupp dealing with injuries, the team needs fresh legs to step up—Whittington can be that guy.
He should be almost free in drafts! It’s time for this waiver darling to become a guy this year! Be smarter than your competition—
Marvin Mims & Bo Nix
Bonus Round!
When you’re uncertain about your fantasy picks, remember: “When you don’t know where to go… go with Bo!” The dynamic duo of Bo Nix and Marvin Mims Jr. is poised to redefine the quarterback-receiver connection this season.
The fantasy community has been eagerly awaiting a quarterback who can fully utilize Mims’ explosive potential. This cat has the speed and agility to dismantle defenses, and with Nix at the helm, the sky’s the limit.
Bo Nix isn’t just drawing comparisons to Brett Favre; he’s showcasing even greater athleticism. His sneaky rushing ability adds a valuable dimension to his game, reminiscent of Baker Mayfield’s electrifying rookie season. Nix is out there channeling his inner Pablo Sanchez, making plays that leave defenses scrambling.
This Batman and Robin duo is flying under the radar, primarily due to their current name recognition and win/loss record. But that’s where savvy fantasy managers can capitalize. If you’re willing to embrace the role of the Rat King, feasting on undervalued assets, Nix and Mims are your golden ticket.
Don’t be the dumb-dumb in your league that overlooks this pair. Recognize their potential, draft them strategically, and watch as they transform your fantasy roster into a powerhouse.
That’s a wrap, folks! You think you know fantasy football? You merely adopted it. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see a championship until I was already a man! I’m just out here with y’all trying to stack these chips up! Let’s get it! It’s fantasy baby!!!
