Well, well, well…week 1 is in the books! It’s still hard to believe that the NFL season is already upon us. It seems like just a few weeks ago we were listening to Caleb Williams being drafted as the first pick in the 2024 draft…now he’s already out there lighting up defenses with a whopping 94 passing yards on 48% completion percentage, also adding 5 carries for 15 yards. Just a true dual threat fantasy option this year, but that’s what week 1 is for. Learning from your mistakes, making moves, improving your team and talking that shit if you took home that dub (Sorry Trenton, I didn’t want to get the muddy boots all over the couch! UNITY!!!!). If you took that fat ass L this week, you still got 13 weeks to go, it’s only the beginning of the season! Keep your head up…so you can just keep taking loads to the back of the throat! I’m sorry I couldn’t help myself! With that being said, let’s get down to business and break down these matchups!
Let’s just get this one out the way! Congratulations Kmill and the Bread Winners on earning the inaugural King of the Ring weekly trophy! The highest scoring team of the week with 142.36, although it may have been a bit of overkill as Delvron and the 2 Live Crew must have popped something, and it wasn’t that pussy baby!!!, looking like a straight up number 2 with only 90.74 on the week. Some bright spots to focuse on though, he had a really good running back room with Gibbs and Achane putting up 17.4 and 23 pints respectively. But it wasn’t enough to stop the Bread Winners, as Jayden Daniels, Mixon, and Tyreek all put up over 25 points! Oh and had Brandon Aubrey score 21 points as just the courtesy tap at the end!
Next up it was the battle of brothers, Willie and Jean, but Jean and The Top Shottas must have gone and cried to moms cause Willie and Duval No Limit got that ass beat! 135.96-108.74 with big games from Alvin Kamara and Stefon Diggs and the rest of the starting lineup putting up just good solid numbers. It was already an uphill battle going into Monday night for No Limit…and then we got the CMC news and there was that could be done…I mean you could have stashed the Mason handcuff for a CMC that was hurt to end the season last year and dealing with the same calf this off-season…but hindsight is 20/20….and Quans got da vision it like a line between 2 dots.
Speaking of the devil big Congrats to Quan on being the first official Dum Dum of the Week this season. Cause Quan and Third Times a Charm got, and I quote, “them cheek’s clapped!” Pilar came out swinging this year! Team Name TBD (smh) emerged victorious 106.78-86.08 riding on the back of that magnificent wild stallion Josh Allen (31.18) she just drug Third Times a Charm through the mud. She even started Quans’ my guy Mr. TE1 on the week Kyle Pitts AND The Muth, she went 2 TE as just the slap on the ass as she was kicking you out the back door (it was to ugly to have you using the front)! 6.7 from Pat in the flex vs 3.5 from Drake London…talk about a value pick!
Next let’s get to yours truly! It was Steven and Trenton in what was basically a 50/50 win projection for the Motorboaters and the Duval Sliders. But only one of these perennial playoff powerhouses could come out on top (no pun intended) and I think we all know how this one ended folks. 113.28-95.08 and I just need to hang a Cooper Kupp Jersey from my ceiling at this point. 32 points 14/21 targets (yes that is correct 21 targets!) for 110yds and the tuddy…oh and in case that wasn’t enough just a cheeky little extra 1 point from 10yds rushing. Sliding over to Trenton’s side he did have 18+ from both Breece and Deebo however Goff, Evan Engram, and Scary Terry were all disappointing.
Moving on to what was our closest game of the week it was our defending champion Kris and End Game against Daniels Diamond Dawgs in what he hopes to be a better sophomore outing. But it didn’t start out great 125.2-120.72…less than 4.5 points was all it took for Kris to walk away victorious, and we could go over all the players and the points, but at the end of the day it was one decision that unfortunately led to disappointment…starting the season with a Gander, it was starting the KC D/ST against Baltimore and there -2 points. Can’t be afraid to work the wire and play the matchup.
Last but certainly not least it was Seth’s Legion of the Dead Sea and Cory’s Goon Squad. And the Rookie came out hot! 122.62-90.82 Seth forgot to go sails up and got left at port. The Goon Squad was really only bolstered by Saquan (33.2), that Dallas D (19) and Ka’imi Fairbairn (17) and everyone else was pretty much single digit scoring, so we could see even higher scoring games coming. And the shopping may be duty free but that roster is not! Seth super Baltimore stack with Lamar, Zay, and the D/ST maybe have been a mistake but it’s still early in the year, anything is possible.
That’s it for week 1 everyone. God it feels good to be back! As per usual I will end with our top 3 scoring teams, our bottom 3 scoring teams and our top 3 scoring players. Great start to the season everyone, best of luck to all of you going into week 2!
